AMS Artists Shine at UIL Completition

AMS students recently attended the Quad County Art UIL event at Doss Heritage and Cultural Center in Weatherford. The students had their artwork selected to be judged for competition. Mrs. Webb and Mrs. Mendoza are extremely proud of all of the art students this year. Mrs. Mendoza said, “There are some extremely talented artists at Aledo Middle School, and this was a great opportunity to showcase their efforts and hard work.”

PTO Food and Shoe Drive - April 25-29

The Aledo ISD Administration Building and all AISD campuses are joining the Aledo PTO in a Food and Shoe Drive April 25-29. The East Parker County Center of Hope relocated this past year, and many families are finding it difficult to make the drive to the Weatherford COH location to receive aid. This food drive will help stock the Manna Room at Aledo United Methodist Church, which shares their food pantry with other local churches. During summer months, there are many families who use the pantry.
PTO is also working with an organization who will pay PTO by the pound for the shoes they collect, and then ship them overseas to needy children. So, check your closet and your pantry, and contribute to this wonderful cause!

Earth Day 2016

How do you like our new tree?

By planting a new tree each year, we help our environment. We hope to make this a yearly tradition at our campus.

The tree was graciously donated by Dwain Webb with Venture Roofing and Building Supplies. Duvall Landscape and Maintenance donated the planting supplies. The AISD Maintenance Department dug the hole and prepared the site for planting. A special thanks goes out to Mrs.Allison Webb for coordinating!

Celebrate Earth Day 2016 and plant a new tree in your front yard.

AMS Band Sweeps UIL Competition

Aledo Middle School completed their UIL performances last week at Burleson Centennial High School with all three bands earning Sweepstakes. This means that the bands each received a first division from all six judges, so all three bands walked away with 18 first divisions! Aledo Middle School was the only band program out of 58 to bring three bands to the competition and receive straight ones from all the judges. Band Director Joey Qualls said, “This is a huge accomplishment, and we are very proud of all the students and their hard work!”

Hats off to Mr. Qualls and Assist Band Director Simon Bosch as well!
