Revised 2014-2015 AISD Calendar Shows End-of-Year Changes
The Aledo Independent School District’s updated calendar shows a revision for the last week of the 2014-2015 school year. The changes were approved by the district’s Board of Trustees at the April board meeting. In accordance with the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook and the Waiver Division at the Texas Education Agency, the district cannot have an early-release day on a bad-weather makeup day. Now, Wednesday, June 3, will be a full day of classes for students. Thursday, June 4, is a bad-weather makeup day, and students will attend classes the full school day. Friday, June 5, is now the last day of school, and early release will be observed for grades K-12. Grades K-4 will release at 11:40 a.m., followed by grades 5-12 at 12:40 p.m. Buses will run accordingly.

Aledo PTO--YOU ROCK!

Ms. Marla Jones Class Project
After reading the novel Touching Spirit Bear, students in Mrs. Jones's class had the opportunity to create projects like totem poles.  In the novel, the main character is on a path of self-discovery, and he creates a totem pole to heal from the scars of his past.

Awesome totem pole!

Parent Survey
We are requesting that you complete the parent feedback survey on how we as a school district are doing in serving your child.  You should have received this survey invitation via e-mail Sunday, May 3.  If you did not receive the survey electronically, it is because we do not have your correct e-mail address in our system.    Please contact Lynn McKinney via e-mail at lmckinney@aledo.k12.tx.us so that she may send you an electronic invitation.

We would like to stress that this parent survey is confidential and your responses are anonymous as the results are tabulated and reported to us through a contracted third party. Your responses are critical as we will utilize your feedback in determining our specific campus goals for improvement.
Thank you for sharing your child with us.  We look forward to reviewing your responses.

AMS Art Projects
Check out our AMS Art class projects!  Students learned how to mold the clay and create awesome clay pottery containers. Working with clay is a valuable tool that can help with motor skills, self esteem, discipline and the ultimate----PRIDE. We hope that you enjoy and appreciate the creativity involved in the projects and maybe it will inspire you to complete a clay project of your own.
